Professor Chen De: Associate Dean of School of Foreign Languages; Member of Communist Party of China; the Member of Academic Degrees Committee of Xi’an University of Posts and Telecommunications; Research Orientation: British and American Culture and Intercultural Communication. Prof. Chen was engaged in advanced studies at the Department of Linguistics in Pennsylvania State University of USA from January 1986 to January 1987, and from July 1995 to August 1996, he pursued further study at the Department of English in University of Toronto of Canada. Prof. Chen once took charge of “College English Extension Program” from Ministry of Education, two Course Construction Programs and one Teaching Reform Program in School Level. His book An Outline Introduction to Britain and America has won the Second Grand Prize of Excellent Course in University Level, and he compiled a dozen of English materials and published several Academic Theses. In 2002, Prof. Chen obtained “Top Ten Teachers” and “Huawei Prize” in University level, and he also won the “Excellent Teacher” and “Excellent Party Member” in 2005 and 2007 respectively. Prof. Chen has taught the courses of “An Outline Introduction to Britain and America”, “Lexicology”, “Intercultural Communication”, “Intensified English for The Personnel Training Plan Between China and the USA in the Pattern of 1+2+1”, “An Outline Introduction to Chinese Culture for American Summer Camp Class” and so on.
